THE NIGHT MARKET AND HOLIDAY EXHIBIT

The MakeShift Union is excited to bring a festive spirit and a lot of handmade to The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences this holiday season. Imagine a sparkling cozy outdoor market featuring over 50 handmade vendors, fire pits, carolers, and most importantly, pictures (and gift requests) with the jolly man himself. The Night Market will also feature locally crafted beer and food, hot chocolate and s'mores for guests to enjoy. Inside the gallery, there will be a handful of featured handmade goods that will be available for shopping from November 26th-January 21st. On November 26th (Small Business Saturday) the indoor & outdoor markets will be taking place simultaneously at the stunning LBIF campus from 12pm - 8pm. We invite you to check back often as more details are released about this merry meeting of all things handmade and beautiful.

WHEN?

  • The indoor Holiday Exhibit and market will be running from November 26st - January 21st.
  • The outdoor Night Market will take place on Saturday November 26th (Small Business Saturday) from 12pm - 8pm.

  • Manahawkin Lake Park

To “make” is to create, through invention and handiwork, from conception to finish. The mission of our festival is to highlight the underground current of makers who are changing the landscape of production and consumerism in America. It will be a day to celebrate the collective artistic endeavors of homegrown talent locally and beyond. It will feature a range of makers whose crafts include everything from handmade and vintage fashion, to woodworking, to photography and fine art, to food and music.

I am proud to be a part of the Creative Team for this very special event.

54th Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival

  • Old Pool Farm

What takes place during the third weekend in August and is possibly the best music festival on the East Coast? Where can you go to see both national acts and emerging artists on seven different stages? For thousands of music lovers, the answer is the legendary Philadelphia Folk Festival in Upper Salford Township near the bucolic burg of Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, a little more than 35 miles outside of Philadelphia. There, an 80-acre working farm is transformed into a magical, musical city that offers three full days of music. This seminal summer event is the longest continuously-running outdoor musical festival of its kind in North America and will celebrate its 54th Anniversary on August 13-16 at the Old Pool Farm.
